I believe it is commonly known that in the spring for Japanese it is a must to enjoy a pick-nick below blossoming cherry trees. But why is it actually so attractive for everyone? Of course cherry flowers look beautiful. Additionally for some, I believe it is a nice excuse to drink alcohol and let go of all the stress. Catching up with friends is always nice. For others admiring the return of color in a concrete world is a reason for celebration. But there is a much deeper aspect as well!
For connoisseurs of Sakura (japn. cherry tree) the actual high point lies in the appreciation of fleeting beauty. Beauty is expressed in the moment, when a cherry flower in its full beauty is swept away by wind and while dancing in the wind, the flower is actually dying. The essence: Life is full of changes. Enjoy happiness and beauty as long as it last, because it might be taken away sooner than you think.
